If you had ever thought that there is a perfect security system, you might have to think twice now, even if it is made by Apple. Apple’s iCloud bypass activation has been compromised by two hackers. These hackers managed to unlock any iOS device by simply bypassing the iCloud activation screen, the one that shows when you restore your iOS device. Read below on how to unlock iPhone using doulCi.
iCloud Activation is a security measure by Apple, this has been introduced to protect your iOS device from being used by people you do not want. Whenever your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch gets stolen you can lock it and erase the entire data, when you do this the person who stole it can’t use it. It simply becomes “bricked”.
The two hackers, which go by the name of AquaXetine and MerrukTechnolog, discovered a security flaw that let’s them unlock (unbrick) any iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. They did this by a technique called “man-in-the-middle attack”.
When you activate, for example your iPhone, it connects to an Apple server which verifies security credentials and unlocks the device. But what these two hackers have done (they call themselves “doulCi”, iCloud spelled backwards) is that instead of sending the information to the Apple server, they intercept it. This way even if an iPhone has been reported stolen, when it connects, it would send the info to their server which will tell it that it is safe to unlock it. This way they can simply unlock any iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
The tool to unlock iPhone and other iOS devices, doulCi, is very simple to use according to the hackers. They mention on their website doulCi.net, that all you need to do is “add magic lines to host file” and it will be unlocked.
To use doulCi is very simple. Just Add the “MAGIC LINE” to you “hosts” file on any operating system you are using, and then after just one step you will have your device bypassed.
All you need to do is open the famous software developed by Apple Inc. and plug your device in the USB port on your machine and it will be done in seconds.
At the time of writing, team doulCi has mentioned their tool has unlocked more than 15,700 iPhones – that is quite a remarkable feat. They mentioned that they contacted Apple about the exploit but Apple did not reply back – they waited two months until going public. As soon as the media caught attention of this hack, Apple contacted them but the hacker mentioned “it’s too little, too late”.
We will have more information on how to unlock your iPhone using doulCi for free. So stay tuned.
